Maybe you have never been to church, been attending all your life, or you are just getting back into it after a long break. Wherever you are in your journey, we are praying you find a place to call home, and more importantly a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Past

In June 1973, a 30 year-old minister named Paul Newland planted a church called Gateway. Paul and a handful of families had a vision of reaching people for Christ and seeing their lives transformed by God’s grace. God honored that vision and grew His church.  Over 35 years of commitment, Paul and his wife Jane have watched their four sons grow-up at Gateway and become pastors in the Christian Church.  The Newland family has lived with integrity and devotion to Christ’s Church.

Present

God continues to bless Gateway with new life, new relationships and new vision.  Through different seasons, He expanded the facilities at Gateway for the purpose reaching people for Christ.  As Dr. Newland has often said—“God is leading us to build for the people we have yet to meet.”

 

 

Future

In June 2008, the Elders shared a new vision for Gateway. Pastor Paul will transition into a new staff role after 35+ years of faithful service.  Beginning in January 2010, he will serve in leadership as the Founding Pastor.  As staff, he will continue to teach, lead, and care for the families of Gateway. Starting in January, Associate Minister, Karl Schad, will become Gateway’s next Lead (Senior) Pastor.

Over the last 10 years, Karl and his wife Carie have served the families at GCC.  This is their church home.  Starting out as a youth minister, he now enjoys preaching, leadership development, and vision casting at Gateway.  He is also a team builder for missions, growth groups, and outreach.  Above all, he describes himself as “a guy that loves Jesus and wants to see lost people found in Christ.”   As Lead Pastor, he looks forward to building on the legacy given to us and creatively moving forward with the dream God has for Gateway.   Together we will explore what it means to Live for Christ, Grow in Christ and Serve like Christ.

As you can see, God is up to something big at Gateway.  Lives are being transformed and relationships are being restored.  People from every walk of life are discovering that God is a God of second chances.  We hope you, your family, and your friends will join us this Sunday and experience this firsthand.  Our prayer is that you would follow God’s lead as you look for a church to call home.
